How we Work
As an organisation
The organisation is managed by a Board of Trustees including a team of professional advisers. Two thirds of the Board members are either diabetic or are carers of a person who has diabetes. The administrative head is the Project Director, Health Promotion and Development, assisted by Health Promotion Assistants, Outreach workers and Volunteers in the day-to-day running of the organisation

As a service provider
We operate through patient, peer and support group meetings for diabetics and carers by:
Organising forums for individuals to interact and exchange ideas and share experiences of diabetes
& diabetes-related conditions
- Facilitating health talks from relevant health professionals on areas of concerns
- Recruiting and organising training and diabetes awareness sessions from one community to the another
- Producing or procuring relevant leaflets and training materials
Organising workshops, seminars,focus Group meetings, Support Group meetings and conferences on relevant issues affecting diabetics etc to promote self-management of their diabetic conditions - Treatment compliance and facilitate Diabetes Expert Patient approach to living well with diabetes
- Organising recreational activities and outings, funds permitting
- Providing advocacy service where necessary and identifying the identifying the health needs of diabetics in the community
